ephemeral necklace

I ponder the ephemeral, especially in winter. I dream of the tropics for a minute then, go back to enjoying our snowy landscape, because it only lasts a season. Nothing lasts for too long, especially as I get older and time seems to accelerate. That mind-set makes me try new things and challenge myself. I liked working with white and pearly beads (not part of my portfolio up to this point), and I got to see how pearls and glass played together. So much shimmering light!
I strung the mother-of-pearl birds with some little vintage, cloudy, green, faceted glass bead. The rose pink shades just made the white and green sing - like the birds I was stringing.
Three delicate strands with seed bead accents and handmade, spiraling, glass beads and button at the ends - all strung on Soft Flex beading wire.
It measures 23-1/2" long.
